Welcome to the October tree-following get-together. I look forward to seeing everyone’s news and pictures once again. And newcomers are also always gratefully received.
As the daylight hours grow shorter the trees are starting to show their autumn colours and they are not doing too badly bearing in mind that we were expecting to be disappointed after such a dry summer followed by rains.
Weather permitting I hope I can make my monthly visit to the tall tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) in Cardiff’s Victoria Park this week.
I wonder what all you regular tree followers are up to? I’m sure you will have something new to report. Point to any tree-related post you would like to share, using the link box below. And please don’t forget to leave a comment.
The link box is now open for contributions and will stay open until 7pm GMT on October 14.
If you are new to tree following, read all about the idea here, although, as I haver been saying for months, I must update that page when I have the chance!
I don’t have an ‘Ironwood’ tree in my garden, but they are so glorious in autumn I really should. thanks for hosting the collection of followed trees for another month. The link to my update has been attached.
Thanks – to be honest I am not sure where the ironwood came from, as I can’t remember any of our gardeners intentionally planting it and we have lived here for 40-odd years…
Best wishes 🙂
The wind has picked up a bit though still just a breeze in Wyoming. It’s filled with leaves which are finally falling in earnest after several nights of frost. Thanks for hosting!
Yes, the frost does seem to shock them into dropping off…
Best wishes 🙂
Beautiful colours on that ironwood tree! Thanks for hosting!
Yes, and as I see it through my study window it is a constantly changing wonder…
All the best 🙂
Hello, this month’s report now posted and linked. xx
Thank you both 🙂
Oh wow, the colours on the Persian ironwood tree make me want to get out a paintbox! Just glorious.
PS: just linked the latest post.
Thank you and thank you 🙂
