The tree-following link box has now closed for another month.
I find it hard to believe that one month of the new year has already gone. Although the weather is still very changeable here in South Wales, on a clear day I can feel that spring is on its way and in fact I did find myself spring cleaning, decluttering and putting some seed potatoes to chit on my window ledge at the weekend.
You will find everyone’s updates below, so enjoy exploring…
Alison at the Blackberry Garden – quince – the first green
Erika Groth in Sweden – tree in the snow – possibly Salix
Flighty’s Plot – Liz’s white oak in Lexington, Kentucky, and Mike’s plum tree
Pat – Squirrelbasket – Cardiff, Wales – Turkish hazel in Roald Dahl Plass
JayP – Amblings around Penwith (Cornwall) – Cornus kousa
Hollis – In the Company of Plants and Rocks – Laramie, Wyoming – trees in LaBonte Park
If you are new to tree following, read all about the idea here.
Thanks so much to everyone who contributed in February. Why not join us? You could start looking for a tree to observe at any time of year, but between now and spring is usually a good time. Just point us to any tree-related post you would like to share, using the link box published on the 7th of each month and lasting for a week. Although we all try to publish every month, we are very forgiving if you post less often.
See you next month…
Hello Pat, I’ve just linked my tree post, I have decided on my 2 trees for this year: a Populus – poplar, in my garden and Fagus sylvatica – beech in the Lews castle grounds.
Sorry to read about your husband, I hope he gets his op sooner rather than later. Life can be very demanding at times, take care. Frances
Great choices!
Thank you for your kind thoughts – we have a date now but it’s still five weeks away…
Best wishes to you during all these storms 🙂
Hello! I’m sticking with my new tree for now, which I’m still not sure what it is. This winter is extremely variable where I live. During the last week we’ve suddenly gotten plenty of snow so the tree looks rather pretty embedded in shining white snow.
Take care. Erika.
Lovely! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Hello, I’ve just done this month’s post about Liz’s white oak and my plum tree. Not much change on either from last month. xx
Ah well, spring is surely on its way soon.
All the best 🙂
Hi Pat, I’ve just linked the latest on my tree (which looks just like last month!)
That seems to be the way with January and February…
All the best 🙂
I was shocked yesterday to find it was already the 13th! Oh well, ran out to the park and had a short but nice visit 🙂 I’m changing trees, for reasons explained. Cheers and thanks!!
I am replying to this before I go over to see your post – so I am intrigued…
All the best 🙂
