The tree-following link box has now closed for another month. After a cool June the jetstream has moved north to hold back the Arctic air and we have had a heatwave here in Cardiff.
For the first time I have had to unpack the expanding hose I bought too late last summer. The garden appreciated the thorough soaking, especially the container plants, and a young robin invited me to give it a gentle shower.
You will find everyone’s updates below, so enjoy exploring…
Erika Groth in Sweden – aspens
Frances at Island Threads, off the North West coast of Scotland – hawthorn
Flighty’s Plot – Liz’s witch hazel in Lexington, Kentucky, and Mike’s apple tree
Alison at the Blackberry Garden – one quince to rule them all
Hollis – In the Company of Plants and Rocks – probably Russian Hawthorns
Pat – Squirrelbasket – the London plane of Mermaid Quay
And we have a new tree follower this month:
JayP – Amblings around Penwith (Cornwall) – unidentified tree
Rapidly followed by:
JayP – Amblings around Penwith (Cornwall) – the tree identified
Welcome!
If you are new to tree following, read all about the idea here. Why not join us? Point us to any tree-related post you would like to share, using the link box published on the 7th of each month and lasting for a week.
Glad that I remembered to check again to see if the link box had appeared. I had almost given up on this month.
And sorry once again for not checking the post had published.
Your aspens look lovely and your air is so clean and clear 🙂
I wondered why there are so few posts, I hope other tree followers check back too. I have only just done my post for this month and linked in. Thanks as always for hosting Pat.
Frances
And thanks for taking part – your hawthorn seems to be enjoying the mix of sun and rain 🙂
Hello I did our post last Thursday and was surprised to find that there was no usual post here to link it to. I was going to contact you later today to see if all is okay. xx
Sorry about that!
It must be the first time ever I haven’t checked to see that the scheduled post published OK.
I guess I was distracted last Sunday as it was a day of watching the cricket World Cup final on TV.
Thanks for taking part and all the best:)
That’s okay. I’m thankful that it was a technical hitch rather than personal problems.
You’re welcome, and thanks. xx
Thanks for hosting again this month
My pleasure – and sorry I didn’t check that the post had published as scheduled.
Thanks for sharing your lovely quinces 🙂
o Squirrelbasket. Here’s a link to a Tree Following post. Thank you for giving me a bit more time, hoe I am not too late.
Thank you for joining us.
I love your tree. I think I have an idea what it might be, but I will leave you to find out for yourself and I look forward to seeing it through the seasons. No “spoilers” here!
All the best 🙂
It’s done and up! I was glad to have the delay actually 🙂 Cheers.
Glad my sloppiness helped someone! I felt so awful that I hadn’t bothered to check if the post had published as scheduled.
Pleased you have identified your hawthorns – rather pretty variety.
All the best 🙂
