Green cherries in late May on one of the magnificent white-flowering trees around County Hall in Cardiff Bay
The tree-following link box has now closed for another month. It’s very cool and wet for June here in Cardiff and I managed to visit my London plane in Mermaid Quay without getting my camera wet. You will find everyone’s updates below, so enjoy exploring.
If you are new to tree following, read all about the idea here. Why not join us? Point us to any tree-related post you would like to share, using the link box published on the 7th of each month and lasting for a week.
Here are the all-important links from this month’s tree followers…
Erika Groth in Sweden – aspens
Frances at Island Threads, off the North West coast of Scotland – hawthorn
Andrew – Kind Hearts and Corydalis – Oliver the oak
Hollis – In the Company of Plants and Rocks – still unknown! maybe it doesn’t matter
Flighty’s Plot – Liz’s witch hazel in Lexington, Kentucky, and Mike’s apple tree
Alison at the Blackberry Garden – a game of two halves
Pat – Squirrelbasket – the London plane of Mermaid Quay
We always love to read your tree news – so thank you to everyone who contributed this month. See you all again on July 7. Why not join us and follow a tree throughout the year? Although we all try to publish every month, we are very forgiving if you post less often.
hello Pat, it’s quite chilly for June up in the north west too,
I’ve just added the link to my post, a couple of added extras this month,
thanks for hosting this meme, Frances
Actually quite warm and muggy today. Hope a proper summer comes to us all soon!
Best wishes 🙂
Hi, and thanks for hosting!
It’s cool and very soggy here (Birmingham). According to my very lo-tech, but surprisingly accurate rain gauge, we’ve had more rain in the past week than the previous two months combined. With more rain to follow, if the forecast is to be trusted!
I wouldn’t be surprised – we have had flash floods in some parts of Cardiff this week…
Thanks for sharing your news of Oliver the Oak 🙂
Hi Pat, unusually chilly here in Wyoming also, and in much of the Rocky Mts. Still enjoying early spring wildflowers.
best wishes and thanks!
It can’t be cold everywhere in the world, surely? I expect some parts of the globe are unseasonably hot to average things out.
I thought of your “In the company of” title this morning, when I read in the New Scientist that “Spending just 2 hours a week in green spaces such as parks, woodlands and fields has been linked with people feeling healthier and happier.”
This is surely true.
All the best 🙂
Yes!, my experience for sure.
Hello, I’ve just published this month’s rather brief post and linked it. xx
Short but sweet – best wishes to you both 🙂
Hi Squirrelbasket,
I have only just discovered your lovely blog, and am too late to follow a tree this month – but that gives me a few weeks to decide which one to choose. It might even give me the impetus to start a tree related blog of my own – who knows?
Thanks for your kind comments.
I look forward to hearing anything you wish to submit – and if you want to send just a picture or two and some words for now I can easily insert it into one of the monthly tree-following posts until you have a blog of your own.
All the best 🙂
Hi Pat,
What happened to the tree following box for July?
Ooops!
I have only just noticed that it didn’t publish on time, even though I scheduled it!
It is now open and I will leave it open past the deadline to give more time…
Sorry!!!
