Here in Cardiff we have again had a mixture of weather this month and our usual warm south-westerlies have deserted us. It was mild for a while, then we had chill winds from the eastern half of the compass, meaning surprisingly steamy breath in the mornings. Later came more rain and a short spell of sunny and almost warm weather, tempting us to “cast a clout”.
Here are the all-important links from this month’s tree followers…
Frances at Island Threads, off the North West coast of Scotland – hawthorn
Hollis – In the Company of Plants and Rocks – a stand-in this month (out of town)
Flighty’s Plot – Liz’s witch hazel in Lexington, Kentucky, and Mike’s apple tree
Anni Kelsey – Gardens of Delight – trees on the Welsh border
Alison at the Blackberry Garden – the two quinces blossom
Erika Groth in Sweden – aspens
Pat – Squirrelbasket – the London plane of Mermaid Quay
Andrew – Kind Hearts and Corydalis – Oliver the oak
We always love to read your tree news – so thank you to everyone who contributed this month. See you all again on June 7. Why not join us and follow a tree throughout the year? Although we all try to publish every month, we are very forgiving if you post less often.
wow! I’ve never been first before, last frequently π
hello Pat, thanks for hosting tree following, I’ve just linked my post,
I do like your photo of the fresh green moon maple leaves against the blue sky, and up here we have also been having some very cold weather from the north winds, Frances
It must be cold up there, since it is still quite chilly down here, too. The winds continue to come from the east/north east/south east here.
Bring back the warmer sou’westerlies!
Thanks for joining in again – and sorry if I kept you waiting as I was a bit late publishing the link box. I hardly know what day it is as I am so busy these days.
All the best π
oops, forgot about tree following in my rush to pack and leave Laramie before the next spring snowstorm. Here’s a Singleleaf Ash instead π
cheers
For a “rushed job” it was splendid!
Hope warmer weather comes your way soon π
Hello Liz is on holiday at present so it’s just my apple tree this month. xx
And it was welcome – lovely blossom.
All the best π
[…] afraid that’s all I have time for, but do have a look at the other tree following posts here. See you next […]
Managed to make it in time this month! Thanks for hosting.
And a great selection as always.
