The weather has turned cold this last week, disappointing for “flaming June”.
We have also had some heavy rain here in Cardiff. The Atlantic jet stream is south of us, keeping the UK tied in to Arctic air from the north.
I managed to visit the Photinia davidsoniae in Thompson’s Park one lunchtime but it has shown very little change since last month.

Maybe not much to see, but Lammas leaves are really interesting! That’s because it’s a new term for me—and new phenomenon. I found “Lammas growth” in Wikip useful. Now I’m curious whether it occurs in any of our trees.
It certainly was an indifferent month so no wonder there was little change to this tree. xx
