Colourful maple leaves in Victoria Park, Cardiff, this week
Welcome to the November tree-following gathering. I look forward to seeing everyone’s news and pictures once again. And newcomers are also always welcome.
I was keen not to miss the autumn tints of the tall tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) I am following in Cardiff’s Victoria Park so made my visit a week early this time, on a rare fine day – I will report on that later.
We have had a great deal of rain here in South Wales after a parched summer but I wonder what the weather has been like where you are? Is it autumn / fall yet? Many trees here are still green and some seem to have leaves that are more damaged than glorious this time around. The strong winds recently have probably not helped.
I’m sure you regular tree followers will have something new to report. Point to any tree-related post you would like to share, using the link box below. And please don’t forget to leave a comment.
The link box is now open for contributions and will stay open until 7pm GMT on November 14.
If you are new to tree following, read all about the idea here, although, as I have been saying for months, I must update that page when I have the chance! Sorry I am being so neglectful at the moment.
It’s definitely Autumn here in Edinburgh! We have a mix of trees in beautiful autumnal colour and trees that are entirely bare of leaves!
It’s probably a misremembering but I always think that when we were young the autumn came all at once to all the trees…
Best wishes π
Autumn has definitely arrived here in the Midlands too. Thanks for hosting our followed trees for another month.
And thank you for sticking with it – you are a quince-essentially very patient person!
All the best π
Hello, this months post now published and linked. xx
Thank you both – lovely images as usual π
Here the trees have entered winter dormancy. They don’t seem to have noticed that so far what’s supposed to be winter with snow on the ground has, thanks to climate warming, mostly been replaced by rain. Lots of rain. Even I, who don’t like snow, have to admit that the dark and dreary November of northern latitudes without a bright white cover on the ground is not an improvement.
Thank you for posting again – I hope your true winter returns soon.
Best wishes π
It is winter in the Laramie Mountains and I guess a bit dreary, but sure felt good to go out in the woods! Thanks for hosting!!
Thank you for your monochrome post.
Best wishes – wrap up warm π
Hi Pat, just posted and linked.
Walking a different way home the other day my eye was attracted to a small tree with bright yellow leaves. I think it’s a tulip tree, but it was the other side of a fence and hedge. They are very pretty trees.
Keep watching as if it is a tulip tree it will eventually be huge…
Best wishes and thanks for posting again π
I will, maybe it will be my followed tree for 2042? (Not likely, I’d be nearly ninety!)
Well at least you are planning ahead!
I have already chosen my tree for next year, I think.
All the best π
