The Lombardy poplar (Populus nigra ‘Italica’) in Victoria Park, Cardiff, a year ago
It’s a new year and time to draw a line under the tree I followed last year – a Lombardy poplar (Populus nigra ‘Italica’) in Victoria Park, Cardiff – and to move on to a new subject for observation, which will be a tulip tree, Liriodendron tulipifera‘ also in Victoria Park.
You can find all my Lombardy poplar posts here but these are some of my pictures showing how the tree changed through the seasons.

And finally – I was pleased in December to see that the tulip tree I am about to follow obviously flowers, as the dead flowers/fruits were still attached in December, so I can look forward to their colour in 2022…

Tulip tree in December
See you in February with my new tree…
I enjoyed your posts and pictures all about this wonderful tree, and look forward to reading all about the tulip tree this year. xx
Nice job following the poplar and its changes. Again, I’m glad you chose the tulip tree, it will be interesting to learn more. The leaves themselves look so different (the shape).
Sorry i am a month late answering this! Where does the time go?
Best wishes:)
