Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) in my Cardiff garden today – slightly out of focus but at last I caught it on camera…
I had considered posting an image every day in 2022 but that’s never going to happen. So I have decided on an occasional item as often as I can manage it. I have missed my chance over the last couple of hectic weeks so before I start this project properly, here is a catch-up of pictures I would have published one-by-one, had I not been too busy…

January 6, 2022: A red dawn today before a cold rain began

January 5, 2022: Frosted moss on the roof

New Year’s Eve, 2021: A festive snowman decoration

Boxing Day, 2021: Honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica) in the garden
Nice pictures that is my goal this year take more pictures I have missed out last year but alot of those pictures were heart stopping shots, one especially sticks out I was hiking and a royal elk raised up from behind a bush he stared I stared and he walked away beautiful animal.
Good luck with that!
I think a picture a day is too ambitious but there are always odd shots that it’s good to share.
Sorry if I’ve missed it, but do you have a blog or other platform for sharing your pictures?
I would love to follow.
All the best π
Iam new to posting stuff online,I posted some pictures on Facebook and had bad experience with that since that happened I usually put them in a folder and email them if anyone wants to see them.Facebook ugh not for me,I would like to do like you do,iam new to all this. Thanks for the encouragement that you would follow me.
Of course I would love to follow you.
I am not a Facebook fan either.
Good luck with any plans you have to share your pictures π
Would love for you to see some of my pictures but I don’t want to use social media any ideas?
All I can think of would be Flickr, where you can store your pictures and share with a limited number of people if you like. I think it still has a free service.
I’m not sure if you would call that Social Media…
I could host a “guest post” for you if you like? It would be best if it involved trees, as that is my main interest these days, and you could email me your words and pictures?
All the best π

Good pictures, and lucky you seeing a sparrowhawk in your garden.
I look forward to seeing your future snapshots. xx
Thank you. Hopefully it will get more frequent as the garden comes to life and I get out and about more in 2022.
Best wishes π

Thanks for that – I have seen them before but not caught them on camera. For some reason we only ever get a female in my garden but I would love to see a male – far more colourful plumage.
All the best π
A great first picture, they are usually flying too fast to catch on camera.
Thanks for that.
Usually I don’t have my camera to hand when one lands on a fence. Or, as you say, it is zooming across the garden in pursuit of a small bird that goes “peep!” as it ducks and evades capture.
All the best π
