This is my favourite from the cards I sent out this Christmas – I don’t know why I tend to choose a hare image every time! It’s Winter Garden – Hare – by Deva Evans for the RSPB https://www.rspb.org.uk
After another depressing year living with Covid let’s try to take some cheer from the Christmas cards we have received…
Again the cards seem a bit subdued, but maybe that’s just my mood. Anyway, here are some of the designs that caught my eye. As usual, click on the image to go to the source, especially if it’s a charity.

Firstly let’s get Covid out of the way – with a Matt cartoon supporting the Journalists’ Charity https://journalistscharity.org.uk

I love this one – Snow Birches by Angie Lewin for Norfolk Wildlife Trust https://www.angielewin.co.uk and https://www.norfolkwildlifetrust.org.uk

London Bus by Caroline Armstrong for the Alzheimer’s Society https://www.alzheimers.org.uk

Partridge in a Pear tree from Advocate Art for the Motor Neuron Disease Association https://www.mndassociation.org

Another Partridge in a Pear tree, also from Advocate Art, for the British heart Foundation https://www.bhf.org.uk

This is also from the BHF and I have chosen it because it is a simple red foil design showing our Welsh dragon

Dragonfly Tree by Louise Cole for Parkinson’s UK, a charity that helped my late sister-in-law https://www.parkinsons.org.uk

Red Merry Kiltmas from Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland https://www.chss.org.uk

Three Ships by Caroline Armstrong for the RNLI – the gold foil design doesn’t scan very well but I always have a soft spot for the lifeboats as my brother was a sailor and other relatives have been fishermen https://rnli.org

Waiting for Santa from The Macneil Studio Ltd for British Red Cross https://www.redcross.org.uk

And this one is from the Red Cross in Spain, Cruz Roja https://www2.cruzroja.es

Sheep and Truck for Cancer Research UK https://www.cancerresearchuk.org

Stride for Stride by Jane Braithwaite for the Injured Jockeys Fund https://www.janebraithwaitefineart.com and https://injuredjockeys.co.uk

Box Tunnel for Dorothy House Hospice Care in Bath and surrounding areas https://www.dorothyhouse.org.uk

Three ladies, Nenets tribe, Siberia, by Marco Marcone for Survival International, the global movement for tribal peoples https://marcomarcone.com and https://www.survivalinternational.org

Winter’s Coming by Elizabeth Grant for the WWF https://elizabethgrantart.com and https://www.wwf.org.uk

Amaryllis Formosissima – Jacobean Lily – paper collage 1775 by Mary Delany – on a card from the British Museum https://www.britishmuseum.org

And finally – this is not a charity card but a great idea – E Gilbert Illustrations do personalised pictures of your family – and I can testify that this looks just like my relatives who sent it to me… https://www.egilbertillustrations.co.uk
That’s it for now, time to lock the world out for a few days. Have a wonderful Christmas and here’s hoping for a better 2022 for everyone!
Lovely post and pictures.
Thanks, and for you too. xx
Happy old year by now…
Best wishes 🙂
These are wonderful, Pat, thanks for sharing. I will leave it up and enjoy them again in the morning 🙂
Thanks. As we don’t pin them to the wall it’s a way of preserving them, in a virtual way 🙂
Thanks for the lovely Christmas cards. I have that Maltese Cross lily in a pot – but not flowering right now.
This year we did achieve a family Christmas lunch – but my niece’s plans in Devon sadly fell apart at the last minute.
Hope you have a better 2022 in South Africa. Positive signs for the omicron…
All the best 🙂
