Raindrops on “daisies” in Victoria Park
It’s time for another monthly visit to Victoria Park in Cardiff. In June all the flower beds were bare, in July they were full of colour, but in August the flowers are already fading. Here are my latest snaps…

The flower beds

Tobacco plant (Nicotiana sylvestris) is a new one this month

Smoothing out the sand on the beach volleyball courts

The Cordyline australis has now gone from white flowers to green berries…

…the berries

Castor oil plant (Ricinus communis)

Yellow “daisies”

Magenta petunias

The football (soccer) season has begun again

Lime/linden fruit

Dead tree…

…white fungus on dead tree…

…common fly on dead tree

Wild yarrow (Achillea millefolium)

Knopper gall on oak

Bandstand

Small maple

The lovely Rudbeckias are fading

Toadstool fungus in the grass

Fungus on a tree stump – looks like bubble gum or scrambled egg

Flower beds around the old water fountain canopy

At first I thought these leaves were Melianthus but now I look properly they are possibly cardoon?
That’s it for another month – see you in September…
