Tulips in Victoria Park in April
As usual I took some general pictures around Cardiff’s Victoria Park when I visited in April for the monthly Lombardy poplar tree following update. I found it was tulip time and the cherry trees were also in blossom. Here are the latest images…

The centre of Victoria Park

The borders are no longer barren as they were last summer during the Covid-19 lockdown

A variety of different tulips

This bed by the tennis courts also had tulips…

…like these…

…surrounded by forget-me-nots (Myosotis)

This lime tree (Tilia) is still sprouting red stems…

…but now there are fresh green leaves coming through

A maple tree (Acer) coming into flower

This white blossom…

…is on this tree

This pink blossom…

…is on this tree

These single flowers…

…are on this tree

These pinky-white flowers…

…are on this tree

This cherry tree was early and has now lost its blossom and turned to leaves

These pine trunks are always magnificent

Nearby is a hornbeam (Carpinus betulus)…

…with its delicate leaves

I am still enchanted by this mix of old and new ornamental larch (Larix) cones

Towards the south end of the park is this bed…

…brightened with polyanthus

Finally the Edwardian drinking fountain canopy…

…is surrounded by tulips…

…and fancy daisies…

…and one beautiful acid green weed in the stonework – a spurge (Euphorbia)
At least the park has revived after a year of the pandemic…
Lovely cheery post to brighten up our days.and I especially love Forget – me -knots. Thank you. Hope all is well with you and you are coping with the frustrating Covid. Stay safe.
Sorry to take so long in replying these days.
I am always amazed how the forget-me-nots have different coloured eyes if you look closely…
All the best 🙂
