Something that holds your favourite beverage: Wine glass for chilled rosé wine mixed with elderflower pressé…
Last month I signed up for the Summer Photography Scavenger Hunt hosted by Mary-Lou at Patio Postcards – details here. During this coronavirus lockdown I have again not strayed far from the house and garden. Here is my second attempt…

…I think the wine glass was bought at the Connemara Celtic Crystal centre in Ireland many years ago…

Something you have more than one of: Last week I set out across the city by taxi for a haircut for the first time since lockdown so prepared by buying some pocket-sized hand sanitiser in my online Tesco shop – I ordered three different ones as I expected them to be as hard to get as they were at the start of the lockdown!

A toy I play with: Not exactly a toy but miniature boules – usually on the carpet but they are so shiny and the lawn so green after TLC from our wonderful neighbour that I wanted to show them off in the early morning sunshine…

Something I need to throw away: I absolutely love the design of these Plax mouthwash bottles…

…the clear plastic wrapper zips off to leave a pristine recyclable bottle that I am always tempted to refill with something…

Something smaller than a paperclip: Paperclips and one of my husband’s monthly vitamin D pills, which he takes as he hasn’t been able to see proper daylight for 18 months – it reminds me of a drop of blood…

Something with the number 7 in it (or on it): My best friend at work, Sue, is such a talented knitter and put together this mascot for me, showing my favourite Cardiff Blues rugby player, Josh Navidi – he has dreadlocks and can play number six, seven, or eight, but seven is probably the easiest number to knit!
Thanks to the organiser for a great list of subjects – I look forward to seeing what other people have photographed. Every interpretation is different.
This is the full list of subjects: A favourite piece of jewellery * Something with or in a knot * Something with the colours of your country’s flag * A toy you play with * Something you have more than one of * Something in the shape of a triangle * Something that displays a rule(s) * A leaf longer than your hand * Something that starts with the initial of your name (first or last) * Something smaller than a paper clip * Something you need to throw away * Something that holds your favourite beverage * A rubber band/elastic in use * Something with wheels * Something inherited * Something with rough texture * Something naturally round * Something that can go in the water * A stone/rock/pebble with some colour in it * Something with the number 7 in it

Buying things online and having a weekly delivery from a supermarket I find I too have strange dearths and gluts. If there are hand sanitisers available I order several at once. Sometimes they come, sometimes they don’t. Then other things go into short supply. Haven’t been able to get cornflour for ages, let alone self-raising. And recently sweet corn in tins and tuna haven’t been available – but I have been able to get spray disinfectant which for ages seemed to have turned into gold dust.
Can’t believe I have taken so long to catch up with answering comments – bizarrely in lockdown I have absolutely no time, working full-time from home and caring for an invalid husband who can’t get up from the kitchen chair or get into and out of bed without my help (seriously delayed urgent hip replacement because of Covid).
Online groceries are indeed a bit of a lottery but not as bad as at the beginning of lockdown – I have kept as a souvenir my Tesco delivery receipt from March 19 where nearly half of the items were missing…
DO take care – I always read and enjoy your Milk Bottle messages even if I don’t comment!
Best wishes 🙂
We make our own sanitiser. Alcohol, peroxide and glycerine – from the chemist. We reek of gin, but I know it IS 70% alcohol.
Gin is quite a pleasant smell!
Interestingly I see several distilleries have gone over to making sanitiser to help out with the shortages…
Stay safe 🙂
That looks like a very pretty glass & nice that it has some happy memories to go with it. I am sure we all, now, have many hand sanitizer bottles about. I like that your mouthwash bottle has re-use possibilities. Dr Campbell will be happy to know you take Vit D. Thanks for joining in the SPSH.
Sadly I am not taking the vitamin D – my husband has been on it for 18 months as he has hardly left the house since getting meningitis and then other disabling conditions since then. I would much rather he could go outside and take in some sunshine!
Enjoying the scavenging 🙂
