The tree-following link box has now closed for another month. Here in Wales the weather was mixed in August, but managed very high temperatures for the late August Bank Holiday Monday.
Now September has begun and already there is an autumnal nip in the air.
You will find everyone’s updates below, so enjoy exploring…
Alison at the Blackberry Garden – the solitary quince
Erika Groth in Sweden – aspens
JayP – Amblings around Penwith (Cornwall) – flowering dogwood
Pat – Squirrelbasket – the London plane of Mermaid Quay
Andrew – Kind Hearts and Corydalis – Oliver the oak
Flighty’s Plot – Liz’s witch hazel in Lexington, Kentucky, and Mike’s apple tree
Hollis – In the Company of Plants and Rocks – Russian hawthorn in Wyoming – and a rabbit
Frances at Island Threads, off the North West coast of Scotland – hawthorn

Hello, September already and we are on the cusp of autumn. I do like a good hornbeam. Thanks again for hosting this meme.
I like a good hornbeam too – and to think I had never noticed them until I followed one a few years ago!
they are becoming increasingly popular as street trees.
I see your quinces are hanging on in there, despite the assorted weather this summer 🙂
Hello! Glad to be joining you again this month! Thanks for hosting.
And thank you for contributing – Oliver and the galls are looking good 🙂
Hello, I’ve just posted this month’s update about Liz’s witch hazel and my apple tree. xx
Thank you – enjoyed your updates as usual 🙂
Happy to report there are beautiful red haws on the hawthorns by the Art building. And a lovely rooster inside 😉
cheers
And the surprise rabbit!
All the best 🙂
I’ve never noticed any little nuts on my hornbeams, must go and investigate, though not today as we have heavy rain and 50mph winds!

Thank you for contributing – I imagine it is often very windy up there!
