Well, that was a surprise – we woke up to thick snow on March 2…
The tree-following link box has now closed for another month.
To explore everyone’s updates, please go straight to the bottom of this post.
We had a bit of a short, sharp shock here at the beginning of the month, when “the Beast From the East” brought blizzards and “Storm Emma” brought strong winds to the UK – even to the milder southern areas such as here in South Wales. And apparently it will be cold again this weekend.
We always love to read your tree news – so thank you to everyone who contributed this month – including a couple of newcomers. Here are the links…
Lea’s Menagerie – in Mississippi
Erika Groth in Sweden – bird cherry
Flighty’s Plot – Liz’s black walnut and Mike’s medlars
Alison at the Blackberry Garden – quince
Pat – Squirrelbasket – small-leaved linden
Hollis (In the Company of Plants and Rocks) – boxelder (Acer negundo) and whatever’s nearby
Frances at Island Threads, off the North West coast of Scotland – hornbeam (Carpinus betulus)
Annie – Acer pictum or Acer mono
Botany in Birmingham – finding a tree
Thank you to everyone for taking part – see you all again on April 7!
If you are thinking of joining us next time, read all about the tree-following idea here.
Hello!
I am glad to get started on Tree Following again.
I joined in a couple of years ago, but forgot to do it last year
Have a wonderful day!
Lovely! Thank you for joining us again – and your tree looks like it will be interesting 🙂
Great! For once I’m not the only one with winter weather.
Still winter up here in the north, of course. But at least this time the bird cherry I’m following included an actual bird in the tree.
Lovely post – and great to see one of our own native species up there in the north.
All the best 🙂
I’ve just done this month’s post for both Liz and myself, and linked it here. xx
Thanks – and very good your trees look, too…
Best wishes 🙂
Hi I’m a little late with my post this month, but thanks as ever for hosting this meme.
Not late at all – I hope spring brings you sunshine and joy 🙂
we’re mostly dreaming of spring still, but at least we’ve had the first harbingers (We learned that word in middle school, always as “harbinger of spring” Ironically, that was in coastal California–land of eternal spring. Here in Wyoming it makes a lot more sense 😉
hello Pat, just posted my tree following post, thanks for hosting,
the cold is lingering on this year!
Frances
Thank you for your contribution – spring is certainly a long time coming this year 🙂
My post is up at last, Pat. Now to read about everyone else’s trees. 🙂
And a fine tree you have. I must go and see it one day – but I haven’t been to Bute Park for months, now I don’t work in the city centre.
All the best 🙂
Thought I’d join in the fun as I’ve enjoyed reading the other posts so much. Thanks for hosting!
Excellent! I will add your details to the master Tree Following page when I get a moment…
Best wishes 🙂
