It will soon be Halloween. At this time of year in the past I have looked for images of Jack o’ lantern and Will o’ the wisp, owls, cauldrons and skulls. This time I decided to choose some images of black cats, believed by some to be witches’ “familiar spirits” or animal guides. Click on each image to find out more about the source.

Nothing to do with Halloween, but I like it anyway – this poster advertises the tour of Rodolphe Salis’s Le Chat Noir shadowpuppet theatre – the design is by Théophile Steinlen (1859-1923), a Swiss-born French Art Nouveau painter and printmaker

raunchy has a man’s face on her chest – utterly disconcerting, as if she is possessed.
Interesting – I hadn’t spotted that until you pointed it out!
I guess we can see faces everywhere (I remember seeing them in the cabbage-rose wallpaper in our bedroom at the in-laws’ house).
Best wishes 🙂
We have a black cat who is a Jekyll and Hyde character!
Aren’t they all! Does the dark side come out at night?
All the best 🙂
