Between Christmas and New Year we usually visit the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre at Llanelli, but this year it has been very dark, wet and miserable.
So I thought I would share some wildfowl images from previous winter visits and here they are.
I have also now added a couple of bigger galleries:
WWT Llanelli in Winter
and
WWT Llanelli in Summer
Shame you didn’t get there this year. I find this time of year one of the best for visiting wetlands. Lovely pics though, will have to try and get to Llanelli next time I’m visiting those parts. Happy New Year.
Actually, we found a break in the weather yesterday and went over the River Severn to Slimbridge instead – home of the original Wildfowl & Wetlands Centre! Watch this space for more pictures…
Thanks for your comments and Happy new Year!
Enjoyed the pictures. Sorry to hear you’re not able to visit the Wetlands as yet.
My Yew Years’ Day outing is to Caswell Bay on Gower with my family. It did rain getting there but dry when there. Lots of people and dogs. Will be putting it on my blog soon.

I look forward to seeing your Caswell Bay pictures π
Thanks for your comments and Happy new Year!
As is so usual I love your posts, and these pics and descriptions of wildfowl are beautiful. Your walks are so rewarding.
Thank you, Rita, and a very Happy New Year to you π
Lovely bright birds, and good shots! We are having a dull time in the UK at the moment, but I wish you a bright and shiny, happy 2012.
Thanks so much – a lovely 2012 to you, too.
I did manage to go to Slimbridge the other day, so there are more bright ducks to come…
Best wishes π
Cute duckies! You take really good photos. What camera do you use?
On my travels I just take my old Olympus Camedia C-765 ultrazoom. Here’s a review…
Best wishes π
